Privacy Policy

Last updated September 2026.

At PDFCAN (pdfcan.com), your privacy is our core architectural priority. We believe sensitive documents shouldn't have to be uploaded to mysterious third-party servers just to change a sentence or add a signature.

1. Client-Side Architecture

By default, all rendering, text identification, image placement, and vector PDF compilation occur inside your local browser runtime via WebAssembly and HTML5 canvas. Your document contents remain on your device unless you explicitly opt in to save them to your account.

2. What Information We Collect

  • Account Information: If you sign up for an account, we store your email address and a salted, cryptographically hashed representation of your password (using scrypt).
  • Saved Documents: If you save documents in your workspace, document metadata and exported files are stored in your browser's private IndexedDB storage.
  • Server Logs: Standard web server requests record IP addresses solely for security, DDoS protection, and rate limiting.

3. What We Never Do

  • We never sell your personal information or document contents to advertisers or third parties.
  • We never train machine learning models on your private documents or signatures.
  • We do not run invasive tracking or third-party ad networks.

4. Contact & Data Deletion

You may request complete deletion of your account and any associated cloud data at any time by contacting us through our Contact Page.
